Full Moon in Hasta Nakshatra
The Full Moon reflects the fullest light of the Sun and is a great time for Self- Reflection. It is also a time for celebrating the full spectrum of our experience, the Colors, tints, and tones.
The constellation of Hasta is within the last part of Sidereal Virgo.
Hasta in Sanskrit means Hands. It relates to the power of manifestation and the need for clarity of mind in order to form an intention that can ultimately be manifested. The nature of Hasta is light & swift, and thus its power is to get things quickly into our hands.
This star has a lot to do with intellectual precision, dexterity, and using our hands to efficiently organize our material reality & routines.
Because this particular Full Moon is in Sidereal Virgo, we need to see what Virgo’s ruler Mercury is up to in the sky. He is very tightly conjoined the north node, Rahu, and is in a transformative and unsettled place in relation to the moon. Many of us can have a lot of mental activity, overthinking, some obsessive thoughts, and impulsive speech now.
Watching this part of your mind & expression will be useful now. Any excessive thinking that is not serving a higher purpose for you or others, can be swiftly let go of now, creating positive change in your overall thinking process.
From a more cosmic perspective, the deity that presides over this constellation is Savitur, which is a form of the Sun God. The very famous Yogic mantra, the Gayatri mantra, is actually a universal prayer to Savitur, which asks for the light of the Sun to illuminate our minds with the highest Truth so that we can see clearly.
It is from this place that we begin our manifestation.
The Mantra:
Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat
Chanting this mantra during sunrise or sunset is very auspicious. It can be chanted anytime the Sun is out.
Many musicians have created a version of this mantra. Listen to this one by Edo & Jo below.
