Full Moon in the constellation of Jyestha, ‘the elder’ within Sidereal Scorpio
Artwork by Lorenzo Mattotti
Jyestha means the ‘eldest’ or one with Great status. The Shakti or power of Jyestha is ascension, growth, and the power to arise in battle. Inherent within this constellation is the strength to fight against our negative qualities which exist within our mental stories and our daily habits. Many ancient cultures have legends about their various Gods being at war with countless Demons. This is of course symbolic of what happens within us. Our inner self can sometimes be a battle ground between our Positive qualities and our destructive habits. Jyestha represents our inner power. This power that emerges from the desire to improve ourselves in the form of self-control. Jyestha will give the strength to renew our commitments regardless of the odds if we have the courage to look within.
The shadow side of Jyestha is perfectionism and a strong desire to be the Best. This can result in comparisons, jealousy and when repressed, bitterness. This is something to observe now, if any of these feelings are hidden within you. Where do they live in your body, trace them back to their source.
As Jyestha resides at the very end of Sidereal Scorpio, this can be a stormy and deeply emotional place for the sensitive and receptive energy of the Moon. Our clarity can be somewhat reduced as turbulent thought waves and feelings can arise on the surface of our mind. It is not the time for pushing or fighting against others or getting caught in an emotional battle with ourselves, but rather to see what we can take responsibility for and then let go of. Let it Go. Scorpio is a water sign after all.
Creating some space for introspection and silence, time in nature, etc will be highly auspicious so that we can re-invigorate our mental strength. The position of the other planets in relation to the Moon are really asking for us to have a scan of our daily habits, of the conflicts and stresses that drain our life force and short circuit our nervous systems. Are we really doing our best to care for the long-term health of our bodies and minds? Can we look at ourselves with an eye of honesty and gentleness
Is there one destructive habit of YOURS, just one for now, that you are going to look into the face of, then pull out all of your weapons and fight it until it falls to its death? Your weapons may be a consistent softness & ease or they may be a fiercely decapitating sword.
Regardless, these little deaths are necessary so that more of your inner light can shine through. For the highest good.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti
